Environmental-Friendly Materials of Quick-Release Boards

Time:2025-09-01 Views:1

With the increasing awareness of global environmental protection and the implementation of strict environmental regulations, the use of environmental-friendly materials has become a key development direction in the production of quick-release boards. These materials not only meet the requirements of environmental protection but also maintain the performance and durability of the product, achieving a balance between environmental protection and product quality.

In the selection of base plate materials for quick-release boards, enterprises are increasingly using recycled and biodegradable plastics instead of traditional non-recyclable plastics. For example, some quick-release boards use recycled polypropylene (rPP) as the base plate material. This material is made by recycling and processing waste plastic products (such as plastic bottles and plastic containers), which not only reduces the amount of plastic waste and alleviates environmental pollution but also has similar mechanical properties to virgin polypropylene. The recycled polypropylene used in quick-release boards has a tensile strength of 30-35 MPa and an impact strength of 2.5-3.5 kJ/m², which can fully meet the load-bearing and impact resistance requirements of the product. In addition, some high-end quick-release boards use biodegradable plastics such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) as base plate materials. These materials can be completely decomposed into carbon dioxide and water by microorganisms in the soil or water within 1-2 years under natural environmental conditions, without causing long-term pollution to the environment. Although the cost of biodegradable plastics is slightly higher than that of traditional plastics, their excellent environmental performance has been favored by many environmentally conscious customers, especially in fields such as medical equipment and food packaging where environmental protection requirements are high.

For metal components of quick-release boards (such as fasteners and connecting pins), environmental-friendly metals and surface treatment technologies are mainly used to reduce environmental pollution during the production and use process. In terms of metal materials, enterprises prefer to use low-lead and low-cadmium alloys, such as stainless steel 304 (which contains no lead or cadmium and has excellent corrosion resistance) and aluminum-magnesium alloy (which has a low content of heavy metals and is easy to recycle). In surface treatment, instead of traditional electroplating processes that use toxic chemicals (such as cyanide and chromium), environmentally friendly processes such as electrophoretic coating and powder coating are adopted. Electrophoretic coating uses water-based coatings, which do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and heavy metals, and the coating process produces almost no waste water or waste gas. Powder coating uses solid powder coatings, which can be recycled and reused (the utilization rate is over 95%), and the curing process does not release harmful substances. These surface treatment technologies not only make the metal components of quick-release boards have better corrosion resistance (the salt spray test time can reach 48-72 hours without rust) and wear resistance but also reduce the impact of the production process on the environment.

In addition, the auxiliary materials used in the production of quick-release boards (such as adhesives and packaging materials) also adhere to the environmental protection concept. For adhesives, enterprises use water-based adhesives or hot-melt adhesives that meet environmental standards instead of solvent-based adhesives (which contain a large amount of VOCs). Water-based adhesives use water as a solvent, which is non-toxic and harmless, and the bonding strength can reach 5-8 MPa, meeting the bonding requirements of the quick-release board's components. For packaging materials, recyclable materials such as corrugated cardboard and kraft paper are used instead of plastic foam and plastic film. Corrugated cardboard can be recycled 5-7 times, and kraft paper is biodegradable, which can significantly reduce the generation of packaging waste. At the same time, enterprises will also print packaging labels using soy-based inks (which are non-toxic and easy to decompose) instead of traditional oil-based inks, further reducing environmental pollution.
